Help Deliver a Smithfield-free Father's Day Message to Harris Teeter's President!

This Father's Day weekend, the children of Smithfield workers will deliver a powerful message to the president of the Harris Teeter supermarket chain, and they need your support!

As you may know, Harris Teeter sells Smithfield pork products that originate in the Tar Heel plant, and even uses Smithfield for their own store-brand bacon. On Saturday, June 16th, Smithfield workers, along with their families and supporters, will deliver a huge Father’s Day card to the home of Fred Morganthall, the president of Harris Teeter.

The card will include messages from the children of Smithfield workers urging the supermarket chain to join them in demanding an end to the abuse of their fathers and all Tar Heel plant workers by dropping Smithfield Tar Heel products from their store, because they are packaged with abuse.

What: Justice for Smithfield Father’s Day Message
When: Saturday, June 16, 12 Noon
Where: Meet on the public sidewalk in front of the Harris Teeter supermarket on the corner of Colony and Rea Roads, Charlotte, North Carolina [view map].

After a brief prayer vigil, we will march a short distance to the home of Harris Teeter's president.

A Smithfield-free lunch will be provided afterward at St. Paul Baptist Church.
