CHARLOTTE -- Teachers who have already been laid off from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools have until the end of day Thursday to file an appeal.
CMS laid off more than 300 teachers last week and about 60 more layoffs are expected this week.
Officials say annual contract teachers, those having problems getting their license and rehired and retirees are next in line to be let go.
Many teachers won't find out if they'll be laid off until the state budget is finalized, which might not be until July.
