Join us this Saturday, Sept 15 for a peace cook-out, film, & fundraiser for the Sept 29 March on Washington.

The peace cook-out will start at 5:30pm. We will have hotdogs & hamburgers, including vegetarian. Feel free to bring something to throw on the grill and bring your favorite beverage.

Our film will be the Robert Greenwald production "Steal This Movie" starting at 8:30pm. This film does a great job of documenting some of the major 60's activism & anti-war demonstrations. It also exposes the COINTELPRO (Counter-Intelligence Progam) waged by the government against the movement via the FBI, CIA, etc.

The description from Robert Greenwald Productions states: "A historical docu-drama illuminating the courage and insanity of a brilliant activist whose zany intensity was partly responsible for ending the Vietnam War. Steal This Movie weaves the complex threads of Abbie Hoffman's life, from excited early protests and lectures, to marriage, to his pivotal role in the demonstrations and brutal police crack down that choked the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago, to his escape underground, to a paranoid new identity, and final reemergence. Starring Vincent D'Onofrio, Janeane Garofalo and Jeanne Tripplehorn."

This will also be a fundraiser for the Sept 29 March On Washington. We are raising money to cover the enormous costs of transportation, printing flyers & posters, and other organizing expenses.
