Cindy Sheehan, founder of Gold Star Families for Peace & The Camp Casey Peace Institute, began a Journey For Humanity on July 10. The Journey started from Camp Casey in Crawford, TX near Bush’s ranch. It has passed through New Orleans and Atlanta on the way to the capitol in Washington, DC, where a possible sit-in may occur at Rep. John Conyers office on July 23. From there the Walk/Caravan will head to the UN for an action, and the Journey will end July 29 at Central Park for a Summer Of Love ’07 Festival.

On July 17, Cindy Sheehan will be in Charlotte to lead a lunchtime rally at noon at Rep. Mel Watt’s office, a Democrat who sits on the House Judiciary Committee. Participants will ask that Rep. Watt support and/or introduce his own Articles of Impeachment Against Bush & Cheney and/or sign onto H.Res 333 to impeach Cheney.

This will be followed by a huge Mass Rally with other national and local peace & justice activists at 5:00 pm at Bryant Park, a few blocks away from Rep. Watt’s office.
