Defend The Charlotte Five & the Right to Dissent

The Square, Trade St & Tryon St

Charlotte, NC

6:00pm until at least 8:00pm

(this event has a permit from the CMPD)

On October 5, people everywhere will walk out of school, take off work, and come to the downtowns & townsquares and set out from there, going through the streets and calling on many more to join us - making a powerful statement: "NO! THIS REGIME DOES NOT REPRESENT US! AND WE WILL DRIVE IT OUT!"

In Charlotte, we will rally at The Square in uptown Charlotte (Trade St & Tryon St) starting at 6:00pm and lasting at least until 8:00pm (Our permit is until 11:00pm).

We will demand that the charges against The Charlotte Five be dropped and violations of their civil liberties be redressed for the police attack on the Sept 23 Human Rights Fest. Police broke a man's ribs and punctured his lung. They also tasered a guy and held a gun to his head. Several people were thrown to the ground and there were several arrested (Full story at www.charlotteaction.org)
